WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The third annual “My Lake Chelan” photo contest has concluded and the winning images have been selected. First prize of $300 was awarded to Aaron Richmond of Seattle, Washington for his quaint sepia-tone submission of two boys sitting on the dock fishing. The photo was taken by his friend Tasha Miller. The second place $200 award goes top Margie Ford who now lives in Kihei, Hawaii but grew up in North Central Washington. Her photo is a beautiful scenic reflection shot of the lake. One hundred dollars was awarded to Annette Kostenko of Cle Elum, WA for a shot of a waterskier silhouetted against the setting sun.

We received over 100 submissions this year, and narrowing it down to the top three was extremely difficult. We’d like to announce honorable mentions of shots submitted by Laurie Hodges of Olympia, WA and Shantel Shake of Tigard, Oregon, who was the 3rd place winner in our 2007 contest.

Contestants submitted images of a variety of activities and scenic views of the lake and surrounding valley. Submissions were received from locals as well as visitors from other areas of the state, a well as Oregon, New Hampshire and Utah.

The 2009 “My Lake Chelan Photo” contest will begins now, and entries must be received by September 30, 2009. Top three prizes will again be awarded; first $300, second $200 and third $100.
