2009 CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The fourth annual “My Lake Chelan Photo” contest has concluded and the winning images have been selected. First prize of $300 was awarded to Kirk Roenfeldt of Auburn, Washington for his entry of kids on a floating toy watching a duck. The second place $200 award goes to Kelly Leggett of Chelan. Her photo is a scenic sunset silhouette of a small boy standing in the water at the edge of the lake. One hundred dollars was awarded to Shay LaCasse of Brewster, WA for a winter shot of a snow-covered bench that overlooks the lake.

We received 171 submissions this year, nearly doubling last year’s number. As every year, narrowing the finalists down to the top three was extremely difficult. Contestants submitted images of a variety of activities and scenic views of the lake and surrounding valley. Submissions were received from locals as well as visitors from other areas of the state, and also from Oregon, Tennessee, Virginia, Missouri and Nevada.

The 2010 “My Lake Chelan Photo” contest will begins now, and entries must be received by September 30, 2010. Top three prizes will again be awarded; first $300, second $200 and third $100.
