This event is designed to bring a car lover to the Chelan Valley. There will be a Downtown Show & Shine, Downtown Walkabout, Hot Rod BBQ, Bridge Dance with live music with Velvet Elvis & Friends, and general cruising the highway & byways.
Once again, the second weekend in September brings old cars to the Lake Chelan Valley. The Fall in Lake Chelan Car Show & Cruise begins on Friday, September 10th, noon-6pm at the Lake Chelan Winery, Hwy 150 in Manson. Saturday registration is from 8-4pm in historic downtown Chelan, 100-200 block of Woodin Ave. Saturday’s activities take place around the Historic Downtown area of Chelan. Show and Shine will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed by the famous Bridge Dance from 7-10pm. Everyone is invited.
This year we are working with the Chelan High School, class of 1960. Our club, “The Lakers,” was originally a high school club, which was started in 1957. The 1960 Club president will be attending with his 1932 Plymouth coupe, which was built at the Lake Chelan High School shop.
The 1960’s president was Leo Goedde, the club advisor was Joe Goedde, also the school bus mechanic and Leo’s dad. The current director is Bob Goedde and he has directed the seven years of Fall in Lake Chelan, Cruizin’ the Avenue. He is also the current Mayor of Chelan.
Cars have a great history of America and the Spirit of “hot rodding” never seemed to die for them. See you in the Chelan Valley September 10 and 11, 2010.
